Want to add music to your Canva website? In this guide, I’ll show you three easy ways to add a song, playlist or playable music section to your Canva website.
This is especially useful if you’re creating a Canva wedding website and want to include your first dance song, ceremony music, a proposal song, or a playlist for guests to enjoy.
You can use this method for wedding websites, digital invitations, event websites, party websites and other Canva website designs.
Quick answer:
The easiest way to add music to a Canva website is to add a YouTube, Spotify or media embed, resize it over your music section, then publish and test the website. For wedding websites, a clickable “play our song” section is great for aesthetics.
Yes, you can add music to a Canva website by using an embedded music/video link, uploading your own media file, or using Canva’s Embed app.
The most reliable option is usually to create a clickable music section on your website. This means guests can choose to press play when they want to listen.
For wedding websites, I recommend using a clear “click to play” section rather than trying to make music play automatically. Autoplay sound may not work consistently on every phone or browser, and some guests may prefer to open the website quietly.
For wedding websites, the neatest option is to make the music player feel like part of the design.
For example, you can create a small section that says something like:
In my example, the website has a custom record-style music player. The visible design stays clean, while the real clickable music player sits over the top of the play button area. This keeps the website looking polished while still letting guests play the song.
The aim is not to show a large music player on the page. The aim is to make the music easy to play while keeping your website design clean and intentional.

One of the easiest ways to add music to a Canva website is by using a YouTube embed.
This works well if the song you want to use is available on YouTube, such as a first dance song, ceremony song, instrumental track or wedding playlist video.
This is usually my preferred option for wedding websites because YouTube links are easy to find, easy to replace and simple to test.
If you are using one of my Canva wedding website templates, the music section may already have a YouTube embed set up for you. In that case, you can simply replace the sample YouTube link with your own song link, then resize and reposition the player if needed.

The second option is to upload your own media file.
This is useful if you have a specific video or audio-style file you want to use instead of linking from YouTube or Spotify.
This can work well if you have a custom video, a personal clip, or a file that is not hosted somewhere else.
Only upload music or media you have permission to use, especially if your website will be shared publicly.
The third option is to use Canva’s Embed app to add music from another platform, such as Spotify or another supported media link.
This is a good option if you want to add a playlist, a Spotify track, or a music link from somewhere other than YouTube.
This method is useful if you want guests to play a playlist or listen through a music platform rather than a YouTube video.
Always test the live website after adding an embed, as different platforms can display differently once your Canva website is published.

If you want your Canva website to look more polished, you can place the real music player over a custom play button or music graphic.
In my example, I used a record-style design with a play button in the middle. The music embed sits over the top of the play area, but it is made almost invisible using Canva’s transparency setting.
This means guests still have something clear to click, but the page does not have a large YouTube or Spotify player taking over the design.
Make sure the clickable area is still easy to use, especially on mobile.
I would not rely on music autoplay for a Canva website.
While Canva does have autoplay settings for some video elements, music or video with sound may not automatically play when someone opens a published website. Many phones and browsers block autoplay sound unless the visitor clicks or taps first.
For wedding websites, the most reliable option is to use a click-to-play music section. This means guests can tap a play button, record graphic, YouTube embed, Spotify embed or music player when they want to listen.
This is also better for the guest experience. Some guests may open your website at work, in public, or somewhere quiet, so giving them control is usually safer.
A simple “click to play” music section looks intentional, avoids autoplay issues, and is more likely to work across different devices.
In practice, I would say: not reliably.
You may be able to set uploaded videos to autoplay inside Canva, but autoplay with sound is not something I would recommend promising for Canva websites. If the music matters, use a visible play button and test the live website on mobile before sharing it with guests.
Before sending your Canva website to guests, always test the music on the live website.
Use this quick checklist:
If anything looks strange on mobile, go back into Canva and adjust the size or position of the embed.
Not sure what song to add? Here are a few ideas for your wedding website:
You could also add a simple note above the player, such as:
Click to play our song
or:
A little preview of our wedding day soundtrack
Yes, you can try using Canva’s Embed app with a Spotify song or playlist link. After adding it, publish your website and test the live version to make sure it works the way you want.
Yes. YouTube embeds are one of the easiest ways to add playable music or video to a Canva website. You can paste the YouTube link into your design, resize the player, and place it over your music section.
You can upload your own media file to Canva and add it to your website page. Make sure you have permission to use the audio, especially if the website will be shared publicly.
Usually, click-to-play is more reliable than autoplay. Many phones and browsers block automatic sound, so it is better to create a clear play button and let guests choose to play the music.
It should, but you should always test the published Canva website on your phone before sharing it with guests. Check that the play button is easy to tap and that the music section does not cover any important links.
Yes. This works well for Canva wedding websites, especially if you want to add a first dance song, ceremony music, proposal song or playlist.
