Victoria warehouse wedding shoot was my first ever styled shoot and still has a huge place in my heart. I wanted it to be a celebration of my beautiful home town city of Manchester. Also about the great Manchester suppliers and incorporate the rich industrial heritage Manchester is known for. The vision was born, an industrial luxury style with elements that give a nod to Manchester and its history.
First up was the venue, well this wasn’t a hard choice, my mind was set on the amazing Victoria warehouse from the start! Being a Manchester wedding designer and stylist there are certain venues you just can’t wait to get your hands on. Victoria warehouse played a huge part in Manchester’s industrial past and was one of the biggest cotton mills. It is also such an iconic building, you may not know it by name but one look and you know exactly the place.
With the venue decided the fun began. I started work on the mood boards, just like I would for styling a wedding. Researching unique items and textures to bring together to compliment each other perfectly and create our vision. It really is in the detail with wedding design! Each small part of the design plays its part and either compliments or adds needed contrast to build the ultimate style on the day. I went for cold, harsh industrial elements like copper, steel and concrete and softened these up with cotton and velvets. I kept a neutral colour palette with grey and silver shades with pops of greenery and copper. Of course cotton had to be a huge focal point throughout the shoot and Sian at The Flower Lounge didn’t disappoint with her amazing cotton floral displays.
I got to have so much fun with the cake area, I wanted to make this a focal point and showcase the hard work that goes into an incredible cake like the one supplied by Little Button Bakery. The cake is one of the elements I tell my couples to get personal with and one of the parts I enjoy most as a wedding stylist. This can be the one thing that really celebrates you as a couple and also can be a lot of fun designing. I personally feel a 3ft table and white tablecloth just doesn’t do it justice.
Here we displayed the cakes and treats on a selection of our plinths! All come as part of our wedding packages. I love contrast of textures so we mixed our copper pipe plinths with our concrete ones and some clear plinths draped in one of our velvet table runners. Adding little touches with the candles and copper trays makes all the difference. I then finished it off with a crazy amount of cotton plants! You can never have to much cotton right? This all sat under the most gorgeous Edison bulb lights that were adorned with some amazing foliage.
So speaking of lights next on the design list was the aisle, I knew exactly what I wanted! The only problem was it didn’t exist. Not to worry though as Peter Lockwood had me covered. After just one meeting at the venue I left him to it, unsure if he fully understood my waffling but OMG he did! They were more than perfect, exactly what I wanted and looked like they was made for the venue itself.
So for the table, my pride and joy, like with most wedding stylists. Every tiny element of this table was meticulously picked. To start was the velvet runner, these runners are from my collection and available with all of our wedding styling packages. With so many cold harsh elements in the styling and such a raw venue I wanted to add luxury and softness and velvet was the obvious option. In a grey/silver colour it was still in keeping of the colour palette and was the perfect contrast for the table. I then rummaged my stock of candlesticks and tea lights, I chose to use my copper geometric, glass and collection of silver and grey tea lights. Our copper pipe candlesticks fit the design perfectly. Adding some luxury with glass candlesticks, these both had a mixture of grey taper candles.
Well any way I feel like I have waffled enough! Here is a collection of photos to hopefully inspire you for your wedding styling. If you are feeling overwhelmed or like you may need a pair of helping hands then give me a shout!

I have the most epic Beauty and the beast wedding styled shoot for you.
This is not your typical Disney version. Moody, decadent, and oh-so-beautiful.
For me, styled shoots are a chance to get creative, push boundaries and show a little bit of my personality.
For the beauty and the beast shoot, I wanted to be able to show that you can have a theme for your wedding.
Without it being overpowering, tacky, full-on, or cheap looking.
Also, show that Disney doesn’t always have to be a pink pretty princess wedding!
It was more about the meaning of the fairy tale rather than the Disney version.
‘Tale As Old As Time’ so of course number one on my list was to find the Old perfect building that had to have a library!
Wow well, I think we hit the jackpot when it came to Chetham School of Music. The oldest building in Manchester and wow what a library it has.
I have mentioned this but I do love a unique building that is either full of character, and history or has some raw natural beauty and this one was just full of all of this.
The next thing to include was the Rose, of course, yes we can have red roses in the flowers but come on a little obvious.
We did a bit of searching and digging and I came across the most beautiful metal Roses, these are stunning!
I think they would make the perfect alternative to bridesmaid bouquets and then make the perfect present for your bridesmaids.
Just imagine how beautiful they’re going to look walking down the aisle holding them! Go check them out!
I wanted to show the dark side of the fairy tale but also still hold the beauty behind the story.
I chose to do this with a lot of contrast which again is one of my favorite things. Yes, we had dark linens but I chose rich velvet fabric.
Dark moody flowers in abundance on the table add an opulent feel, amazing as always for Kate. Finished off with a soft chiffon runner and napkins.
Then stone crockery and cut crystal glasses. Kind of like a medieval feast in ways, you can just imagine them sitting around the table like this full of food in the old days…… no just me?
Thinking about having a red wedding color palette? head to the blog now!
Then for the cake area, designing a good cake area is so important to me.
I knew I wanted a dark black cake (Lisa did a great job on this!) and something different for the setup.
I have started to fall in love with the increasing number of food platters I saw popping up on Instagram. I knew it would make the perfect addition to the cake area!
Little green platter are a must at your next event!
This carried on the idea of the feast feel from the table styling.
Beauty and the Beast is about loving each other for who you are, deep soul love.
Designing people’s weddings is all about finding the inner personality of a couple.
Why do they love each other and then be able to tell that love story to all the guests?
Marni captured all the design and the story of the day. The way she catches light, mood, and moments in a picture is just incredible!
I also have to give a shout-out to the amazing dress and stationery. It was like the dress was made for the shoot, we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect from Legend Bridal!
The stationery finished the design perfectly, again it fits o well and Frain and Grain more than smashed the brief.
Then the show stopper of the set up was the amazing chandelier, Peters Edison lights adorned with Spanish moss, so dreamy!
I would love to hear your thoughts below on this style, make sure you check out all the suppliers involved.

Hi and welcome to the new look blog for Zoey Louise design. Lets chat about my new wedding design and styling packages. I am a Manchester based event designer and stylist for creative couples and brands. Helping style conscious couples and brands tell their story through thoughtful design and styling. I am a Manchester based event designer and stylist but cover worldwide.
This blog is all about my new wedding services, who they are for and how they work! As my business has grown my passion for design and working closely with couples to truly showcase their personality and style within their wedding day has grown hugely. I am a true believer in following your passions and living a life you love! So my new packages are my version of this! I am offering packages that make my heart sing, that I know I can give my all to and I know my couples will truly value.
Because of this I will also be offering coordination. Mainly as this is something my couples have asked for (a lot) and I have always said no and recommended. Planning is not my thing, I personally believe there is a big difference between design and planning, but that’s for another blog I suppose! I always had assistants to help on bigger weddings but now I will offer planner assistants. They are planners themselves or have event planning experience and will take on all the logistical sides of the day. Leaving me to be creative and not get bogged down by spreadsheets!!!! To be fair I am pretty good with a spreadsheet, thank you maths degree! I just don’t enjoy them.
This is my most signature package. For my super organised stylish couples looking for support to bring their design ideas together. This is also great for couples who have a great coordinator already, whether that be from their venue or hired themselves. Most of the time though my couples are just super organised themselves! They know what they want, they have the spreadsheet, the to do lists all sorted. They just need some creative help bringing all their ideas toghter.
This is where I come in. This can be booked form before your venue and I am with you every step of the way. We get to know each other in our monthly meetings and this is how I can then design a perfect day truly reflective of you both. I am there to source all visual suppliers. I am their go to contact leaving you to enjoy the run up to your day. You have access to my styling toolkit, as I like to call it. This all my items that make a great foundation to build your personal design on top. We then get curating unique pieces to enhance the design and make it truly personal to you.
This is the all in one! The all inclusive as they say! Me and my planner assistant will help you plan, design and style every inch of your day, weekend or week wedding! This can start from a venue search or whatever stage you are at. Then we are with you every step of the way throughout your journey. We are there to hold your hand as little or as much as you want.
This is perfect for couples looking for the stress free way to planning their wedding. We spend the time getting to know you and what makes you special as a couple. Then we support you to build a dream team of suppliers. You have full control and we are there to guide and support and take over all the finer details you just don’t need to stress about.
A great event is well designed and effortlessly organised and with this package you get both. This is great for blank canvas venues or couples looking for all around support.
The new pick and mix! This is the perfect package for you super organised, creative and usually DIY couples. This package gives you access to my styling toolkit and on the day set up of mine and any other items sourced on the day. You get a design from us but with the focus on our items and any you will supply. I will be the lead designer and design your day but it could be set up by a styling assistant. This is really popular with our DIY couples! It is a great way to have a professionally designed day when you have a lower budget or you just want to do all the creative work yourself. If you are a DIY bride or groom then head over to our new DIY website all about design your own day.
This is the perfect extra piece of mind. Like with the main package this will be an assistant planner on the day. This is an add on option for my design or styling package. An on the day logistic assistant making sure every detail of the day runs smoothly!
You can take a proper look on my services page for the full details. If one of these packages sounds like just what you need then give me a shout I would love to discuss us working together to make some stylish magic happen. If you are a brand or just looking at hosting an event of any sort head to the next blog for the details.

Eeeek! I love my new branding! Brand goals or what!!!!! I would love to hear your thoughts so leave me a comment below!
As you will know if you follow me anywhere else. My former name was bespoke events and styling. I never liked the name, I rushed to pick it and but little thought into it except that I wanted the word bespoke. Because I was, and still am, passionate about weddings or any event being personal and showcasing your authentic style!
Picking this new name was sooo hard! I just couldn’t decide! I kept going back to my name though! So, there you have it! Zoey Louise design it is! I honestly love it! Not sure Louise did trying to work with a Z and L with script font!
Now, this has been a long time coming. I have never really liked my branding and it was always a do for now sort of thing. If I am grateful for one thing in lockdown it has been the creative space to really nail my branding.
It’s funny as for me design is about creatively showing your personality in whatever it is you are designing. Telling yours or a story. I tell this to the couples and brands I work with! Here I am with cringeworthy branding and really not living by my own beliefs.
I am a control freak and it took me a while to pick someone, trust someone to do my brand how I want. Louise from fleurir online has been amazing! She got me straight away, got my ideal clients and understood my waffles, which is a hard task in itself! So here is my brand board, so gorgeous!
So, with the new brand come a small change in path. I have come to realise my passion is in the design and style of the wedding. I actually find it really hard to drop items off and walk away, weird I know but I just want to make sure they are placing and using them right! So going forward no more hire items only deign and styling. We will be offering coordination. This will be from one of my planning assistants though! As I know my strengths and timelines, spread sheets and not it! Well, a little lie, I can make a killer spreadsheet and excel sheet! Glad my maths degree comes in handy now and then! I just do not get the joy out of doing them.
The next blog will break down all my packages and how they work. I hope they are more streamlined and have been put together to make the planning process for couples as easy as possible. Also, I have a new website for all my DIY couples. I get so many requests asking about how to’s I thought a new venture/page made sense. Go check The event design toolkit out.
This blog is going to be more lifestyle. Sharing design hints and tips from all aspects of life. More about me, what I am up to. Lot’s of behind the scenes when weddings are back up and running! Also, for my brands following me there will be some business talk! Business is a big part of my lifestyle so would be unnatural to not share more of me and my life without the business chat. If you are a modern couple or brand and looking for help bringing toghter your next event then give me a shout. I love to chat all things design and always happy to jump on a call!
